Hi, guys,
Welcome. Christmas is coming up fast - very exciting! I have been doing all sorts of things and it doesn't seem as if it is so close. Thought that I would put these pages up and I can then wish you all a Happy Christmas.
Happy Christmas!
We have had visits to Haywards Heath from Mary & Dave and Anne & Alec, but I didn't take many photos. Sometimes the weather and activities don't get me in the mood, and it's better then to leave it, or I take lousy pics. There are a few here from me and some from elsewhere.
While overnight in Edinburgh for work, I managed to visit Rosie and have a look at her flat. Had a good chat and went out for a nosh in the local Italian. Really enjoyed it, and had a good look at all the Greenland pictures. That was quite a trip. I could have enjoyed a trip like that, but it was probably a bit cold.

Tree outside our Church - can you spot the vicar?

This is Linwood in Glasgow - where the Hillman Imp used to be made. (pic put in for the car nutters.)  They are breaking out the last of the concrete from the old factory.  A bit different now, with the new factories and warehouses being built. Menzies is one of the sites I have been visiting.

Christmas Shopping in Crawley

Celia and David had a late Autumn break towards the end of November, went to see Andrew & Mairead. The 14th is Celia's Birthday and the 18th is Andrew's, so the visit was timed to cover those days. On the Thursday we went to Nottingham for a day out. It's a nice city and we were impressed. Visited the Robin Hood centre and rode round on a travelling chair device which shows all different sorts of sets of the Forest, Sheriff's Castle etc. Went on from there to the caves under the shopping centre. Both were better than expected and well worth seeing. There are many other attractions which we didn't have time to see. Something for next time! Tried to go to the new Millennium Museum in Birmingham, but picked the only day in the week that it closes, so went on to the Botanical Gardens and had a good time. Finished the visit with a meal out Sunday lunchtime with Andrew, Mairead and Mairead's Mum and Dad, before travelling back in bad weather and stacks of traffic. Great weekend, though.

Last month, John Davidson commented on the 11th September attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York, and said that we needed to understand why the terrorists hated the West and wanted to destroy it.
Celia and I have read 'The Haj' by Leon Uris, cover shown on the left. Although this doesn't answer these questions directly, it gives a fascinating insight into the mind of the Arabs and Palestinians.
Well worth the read.
There is also another book called  'Taliban' by Ahmed Rashid, and that is a real eye-opener, and very relevant.

The owner of this Umbrella wasn't allowed to take it into the pub.

Peter Corbyn & Mary Anne are the proud parents of a baby girl - born Oct. 18 2001 at 8 p.m. Her name is Paige Elizabeth and she weighed 8 lb. 11 oz.

John Davidson has news, but see his web site. It is good and has all sorts of articles, especially if you like football, Scotland and Irn-Bru, not necessarily in that order.
Iain Davidson has had a change of job, and is back working for AOL in London.
