April 2002

Hi and welcome to the latest edition of news of most of us. There have been several events since the last issue, so I have been saving up for a 2-monthly format. Memorable events have been  -
Niamh's Christening
Easter
Stoneleigh Kit Car Show
Holiday in France
Visit to Victory
This should give a reasonable amount of pictures and details for those who were and were not there.
Apologies for last month's Pic of the Past - I thought the picture was Iain, so I put it in as I was reporting his wedding. It was John! Sorry guys. I will put in a picture of Iain next month.
We have had a lot of things going on, and it is now June and the Queen's Golden Jubilee has been and gone, and we are into World Cup Fever. Reports on all of these and more next time!

Pic of the Past -
Richard, Iain and Andrew.
Andrew had 2 cars even at that age!

She looks very proud on the right.

Car Show
Andrew & I have been trying to get our Hurrcanes together ever since mine was finished 3 years ago. We made it at last!
This was at the Stoneleigh Show early May 2002, the Bank Holiday Weekend.

France - a great holiday! We stayed with Caroline, Richard & Théo. It was good to see them again. Spent a lot of time driving around getting to know the area and learning how to navigate French style. It's OK once you get used to it. There are some great places over there, and here is a selection of pics we like.

Who likes cats? Celia enjoying the company of Salsa

Right - Celia showing off the hire car - it was a diesel and rather slow. Cheap to run anyway.

Below - Celia admiring the Dordogne, and on the right, the view away from the Dordogne

Above - I spent a day helping Richard with his van. He worked very hard on it, and it passed it's test 2 or 3   weeks after this was taken.

Théo thinking about space travel, and checking out the balcony

Here we have a garden visitor who is trying to keep out of the way of the local fox. Helps keep the weeds down.
